Crush (#47 Sunday Scribblings)

Thinking of him after all these years still makes my heart skip-beat.

We were star gazers until things took a turn.

I watched him vanish on a bus,

looking at me out of his window,

until I was just a speck.

Waving,

Good-bye.

My heart thumping wildly.

That's lovely.

It brings me back to my childhood, I remember having a crush on a boy for one afternoon, on the river Rhein in Germany, and when he got off at the stop before ours I was heart broken and furious, and of course my mother had no idea.

Young love, it's so tragic and confusing.

Oh . . . how sad. Beautifully written, though. Like inconsequential, I lost a lot of weight and sleep over similar incidents.

Mine is posted!

Your heartfelt poem brought back memories for me, as I experienced something very similar — a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Exactly. Even if the crush doesn't actually leave on a bus, it definitely feels the way your poem evokes. Thank you for sharing.
